Tibetan lama and filmmaker Khyentse Norbu (Vara: A Blessing) delves into the nature of life and self in the intriguingly mystical and thought-provoking narrative film Hema Hema: Sing Me a Song While I Wait. Every 12 years, a ritual takes place deep in the forests of Bhutan. With their identities concealed behind masks, men and women put down their names and pasts, and participate in performances and rituals of death and rebirth. Over 15 days, they revel in the freedom of anonymity, cross unspoken lines and reveal what one does when they're not known. Chinese stars Zhou Xun and Tony Leung Chiu Wai appear in cameo roles.
