Criterion Collection: 24 Frames (2017) BR

For what turned out to be his last project, Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami chose to wed his passions for still photography and cinema, selecting two dozen images from his portfolio--primarily landscapes and wildlife--and crafting separate, dialogue-free, four-and-a-half-minute-long digitally animated vignettes capturing the moments just before and after the shutter snapped, creating both a remarkable immersive viewing experience and a very fitting career capstone.

114 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: 5.1 DTS HD Master Audio; featurettes; theatrical trailer.

24 Frames is an experimental project made by filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami in the last three years of his life. It is a collection of 24 short four-and-a-half minute films inspired by still images, including paintings and photographs.
