The movie Black Mask (1996) is about Tsui Chik (Jet Li), a former test subject for a secret super-soldier program called the "701 Squad" who now lives a quiet life as a librarian. When other members of the squad begin a violent crime spree, Chik is forced to embrace his past, dons the black mask, and use his superhuman abilities to stop them. The film blends sci-fi and martial arts, as Chik fights against his former comrades who are far too dangerous for local police to handle.
